  21.      More than 10 million people each year are infested with head lice.  In
  22. fact, except for the common cold, head lice affect more children each year
  23. than all other communicable diseases combined.  The peak season for head lice
  24. infestation is August to November, just the time when children are returning
  25. to the classroom.  And it is the time when the letters about these critters
  26. begin to appear in my mail.  To help all interested parents and grandparents,
  27. I am happy to tell you that a free booklet is available that may help answer
  28. many of your questions about lice, preventing an infection and treating the
  29. condition.  It is called "A Parent's Guide to Controlling Head Lice" and it
  30. contains much of the information you need.  It contains all the guidelines for
  31. cleaning children's clothing and surroundings, and how to tell if your child
